The Kaneland Care Closet

The care closet is an area of our school to provide relief to students and their families who are experiencing hardships: food insecurity, basic hygiene supplies, lack of weather appropriate clothing such as hats and mittens, etc.

About Us

John Stewart Elementary School is part of the Kaneland Community Unit School District #302 and serves students from Elburn, Maple Park, Cortland, Virgil, and parts of Sycamore and DeKalb. Over 550 students from kindergarten through fifth grade make up the John Stewart family.

Do you love being around kids and want to make a difference in the middle of your day? We have are looking for Substitute Lunch Monitors! Hours are 10:30–1:15, making it the perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to be part of our school community—without a full-day or full-time commitment. Sub Monitors are called on an as-needed basis when our full-time monitors need time off.
